3.00% APY Best reward checking account with Delaware Federal Credit Union

Delaware Federal Credit Union continues to provide competitive interest rate with their reward checking account called Better Life Checking account. You can earn an interest rate of 3.00% APY for balances of up to $25,000 and 0.35% APY for the portion of the balance above $25,000. You also get to refund up to $25 worth of your ATM fees when all qualifications are met. The following are the list of checking account monthly requirements that you need to meet:

  • you must make at least 10 purchases using your debit card
  • sign up and receive your electronic bank statement

If you do not meet the bank’s prerequisites, you do not have to worry since you will still earn their base interest rate of 0.05% APY. The credit union gives you a chance to earn this best checking account rate on the following monthly cycle once requirements are met.

In addition, your reward checking account is considered to be a free checking account. It means that even though you do not meet the requirements, you will not receive any monthly service fee on your account. This best checking account does not require any minimum balance to open an account or to earn this best interest rate as well. Finally, you also get to enjoy unlimited check writing.

The credit union allows you to monitor your account using their free online banking. You can also make bill payments and view your monthly statement online. You also have another option in accessing your account and that is through their telephone banking or visiting their office.

Membership with Delaware Federal Credit Union is open to individuals who live, work, attend school, or worship in the cities of Wilmington, Newark, Milford, West Dover, and Georgetown in the state of Delaware. Employees who belong to one of the credit union’s select employer group and their immediate family are also eligible to join. You need to print and complete the membership application form which can be found on the credit union’s website. You will have to enclose a copy of your social security card, driver’s license and $5 which will be deposited on to your new share savings account as their requirement. Once you have everything with you, you will have to visit one of their branches and submit all requirements to apply.
