Bank of America’s “Keep the Change” Savings Account Review
Posted on September 16th, 2009
Bank of America is running it’s infamous “keep the change” program currently in which all Bank of America card holders can earn up to $250 in cash each year simply for using their check card.
This is how it works: When you enroll, each time you buy something with your Bank of America Check Card, they will round up your purchase to the nearest dollar amount and transfer the difference from your checking account to your savings account. You get to keep the change – so every cup of coffee, piece of hardware, meal and tank of gas add up to more savings for you.
For example, if you purchase a latte which costs $3.17 (with tax) then Bank of America will round up the latte purchase to $4.00, placing the difference of $0.83 into your savings account.
They will even match your savings!
They’ll match your Keep the Change savings for the first 3 months, to the penny. After that, they’ll continue matching 5% a year. The maximum anyone can earn is $250 per year.
