Best of the Best: December Edition

Posted on December 1st, 2011

Christmas is fast approaching, before you know it, we will be in the final days approaching Christmas. What I love about this time of the year is the fact there are so many occasions to meet up with family and friends.

That being said we at the end of the week, you are in for the usual Best of the Best. As usual, we have a few friends’ blogs listed here. These are just some of the articles I have read this week, that I thought deserved to be highlighted.

  1. This week I spoke about the RBC Business Cash Back MasterCard
  2. I spoke about the MBNA SmartCash Platinum Plus credit card; this credit card offers one of the best cash back rates I have ever seen for no annual fee.
  3. I did a no fee chequing comparison, comparing the ING Direct THRiVE account, President’s Choice Financial no fee chequing account and the new BMO Club Sobeys no fee chequing account.

I came across a great article on Retire Happy Blog, that had a guest post titled “Do you need income from your investments“. The article sheds some light on how  as you are nearing retirement you need to re-evaluate your portfolios. The article is a great read, and has a lot of great information that can prove helpful.

At Money Smarts, Mike wrote an article titled “PC Financial PC Points at Loblaws – Worth it for Rewards Alone?“. As you can imagine from the title, the article concerned whether the PC Financial account was worth having due to t he rewards points program.

Young and Thrifty celebrated her Two Year Blogiversary this week. I for one am glad that she started her blog, and cannot wait to see what she ha in store for the future.

Canadian Capitalist made an interesting point when asking “Why isn’t Ally More Popular?” Ally Bank offers some good products, but you hardly hear about them, than compared to ING.
