Best of the Best: Retirement Edition

Posted on November 2nd, 2011

This week went by pretty quickly for me. It might have just been that I was so busy that time just flew by. Either way, we can all be thankful for the fact that it is Friday.

That being said, we have reached the end of another week, and that means it is time for BankNerd’s Best of the Best. As you will see below, the articles listed here are a few of what I have read throughout the week and felt that they deserved to be highlighted.

  1. I wrote about a recent deal found at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), it concerned the fact that RBC was offering their Homeline Plan Credit Line at Prime + 0.5%.
  2. This week I covered the No Fee BMO Sobeys Chequing Account; it offers what you need in a chequing account and much more.
  3. In a battle for low interest rate credit card, the Capital One cards went face to face to see which would suit you better.
  4. I covered the Scotiabank Student Banking Advantage Plan this week; it has a very small fee but offers a lot in features for you to enjoy.

I came across a great article on Retire Happy Blog, which explained 3 basic steps to a retirement plan. It is a great article, and is definitely a must read for anyone, seeing as I am sure everyone wants to retire at some point in their life.

At  Boomer and Echo, I found a great article explaining What and RRIF is. You will learn a lot of information concerning RRIFs and how they work.

Million Dollar Journey wrote an article on Pension Basics: Selecting a Form of Pension Payout. It covers all of the basics, and after reading it you are bound to have a better understanding of pension payouts.

At Financial Uproar I came across a great article titled “RRSP Loans Actually Makes Sense“. There are a lot of great points made, and is definitely a worthwhile read for anyone.
