World Cup football stickers for grown ups – Got, Got, Got Need

Posted on June 3rd, 2010

Did you love football stickers as a kid? Do you still love them now and hunger for a full collection for this year’s World Cup.

If so, or even if you no longer feel the burning passion for a John Barnes in Watford strip swapsie, then take a trip to Got, Got, Got Need.

This is the brilliant website for the even more brilliant World Cup project by Elliott Quince, where the artist and designer has created a stylised football sticker portrait of one member of each of the 32 World Cup’s teams.

I think they’re fantastic – and I must confess here that Elliott is a friend of mine (even if he does support Luton Town).

But what makes these even better is that the whole endeavour is in aid of a good cause.

Elliott is selling each individual artwork and all the proceeds are going to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which looked after his and partner Elaine’s baby daughter Tuesday when she was born last year. [Find out more about this here]

Elliott says: ‘I love drawing, love football and I wanted to give something back to the people/place that gave a lot to me and my new family last May.’

Each canvas measuring approximately 16×12? is a handpainted enlargement of an original thumbnail sketch and they vary in price between £100 and £300.
