E-Central Credit Union Offers 2.00% APY 12-Month CD

California residents can take advantage of a competitive 2.00% APY 12-month semi-liquid CD from E-Central Credit Union. The promotion is available on the bank’s News Center page. The details of the account include:
- Minimum opening deposit $5,000 (new money only)
- Withdraw funds as often as every 7 days up to 50% of the initial deposit
- Funds available 30 days after opening certificate
Membership open to anyone who belongs to another credit union, as well as individuals living, working, worshipping, or attending school in a number of California cities. Membership requires a $25 deposit into a savings account, as well as a $5 fee.

Take advantage of a competitive 2.25% APY special on the 7-month CD from Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union. A minimum of $500 in new funds is required to open the account.
On the account’s promotional page, the special is listed as a limited-time offer.

2.00% 9-Month CD at Digital Credit Union – Easy Membership

Digital Credit Union is offering a special 9-month certificate with a 2.00% APY. Minimum deposit is $500. It’s also available in an IRA. The CD is listed in the DCU’s special offers page as of 10/08/09.
It has been a while since DCU last offered a competitive CD special. My last post on a CD special was in January. At that time, the specials didn’t last long. In previous years, their CD specials were more common, and they lasted for several months.
Anyone can join DCU via membership in an association. Refer to this credit union page for the list of associations. The least expensive membership is $10 for joining Reach Out for Schools. You can be immediately eligible to join DCU if you live, work, worship or attend school in parts of Georgia and Massachusetts. Refer to the Join DCU page for the full details.

Top CD Rates with NASA Federal Credit Union now at 3.50% APY for 55-month deal, 2.25% APY for 18-month term

NASA Federal Credit Union is pushing for their September certificate of deposit specials which has top cd rates of 3.50% APY for their 55-month deal. There are also CD specials that give their best cd rates for an 18-month term at 2.25% APY while 9-month CD gains 1.65% APY.
The highest cd rates can be enjoyed by consumers with an initial deposit of $5,000. These certificates of deposit are also available as ESA and IRA.
The September interest rates are a bit lower than the August and July special when the union was offering a 50-month CD as high as 4.00% APY.
Some members of the union reported that the cd rates do not change during the CD’s term unless NASA FCU will advise you a month before the decrease.
The union imposes a penalty of 180 days of earnings for an early withdrawal. They also give a 10-day grace period to the account holder upon the maturity of the certificate of deposit. <

3.00% 9-Month CD at First Priority Credit Union in MA – Local Only

First Priority Credit Union is offering a special 9-month certificate with a 3.00% APY. This requires that you open a new checking account. Without the checking, the rate is still very competitive at 2.50% APY. Minimum deposit is $1,000. The credit union is also offering other competitive rates on its standard certificates including a 2.75% APY for 24 months, 3.00% APY for 36 months and 3.50% APY for 60 months. These are also available as IRA certificates. These rates are listed in the credit union’s rates page as of 9/01/09.
First Priority has a history of offering top rates on its regular and special certificates.
Membership is open to those who live and work in Massachusetts’ Essex County or Suffolk County. Also eligible are employees, retirees and family members of the Postal Community. Please refer to the credit union’s Membership page for more details.

Highest CD Rate with Neighborhood Credit Union at 4.00% APY for 60-month CD

If you are from Texas, you have good local certificate of deposit deals with the Neighborhood Credit Union . The best cd rates they offer are those with longer terms. A 60-month deal will earn your money 4.00% APY.
They also have mid-term certificate of deposits that have very competitive cd rates like their 12-month and 18-month CD at 2.00% APY. The union is also offering this top cd rate for their special 12- and 19-month certificates of deposits which also earn 2.00% APY.
Interested individuals can enjoy these best interest rates for an initial deposit of $2,500 for regular CDs. There are also Jumbo CDs which require a minimum deposit of $50K to enjoy interest rates which are 10 to 15 basis points higher. The CD are also offered as IRAs.
Youngsters who are 12 to 17 years old who want to start early can also invest in special certificates of deposit called Smart CD.
