You can earn an interest rate of 3.00% APY for balances of up to $25,000 and 0.35% APY for the portion of the balance above $25,000. You also get to refund up to $25 worth of your ATM fees when all qualifications are met. The following are the list of checking account monthly requirements that you need to meet:

  • you must make at least 10 purchases using your debit card
  • sign up and receive your electronic bank statement

3.2782% APY for 60-month CD top cd rates with Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union offers their highest cd rates for some certificate of deposit specials with 9-. 18-, 30-, and 60-month terms. These are also available as IRA certificates. The best cd rates are as follows:

18 months 2.1458% APY
30 months 2.7644% APY
60 months 3.2782% APY

The best certificate of deposit rates above can be enjoyed with a minimum deposit and daily balance of $2,500. There are also Bonus Term Certificates which require $40,000 and APYs which are higher by about 25 basis points.

7.00% APY best savings interest rate with Chevron Federal Credit Union, good for deposits through $1,000

Chevron Federal Credit Union offers a competitive interest rate for their savings account called MySavings. The high yield savings account earns 7.00% APY for funds through and including $1,000. Any deposit above $1,000 still earns a competitive interest rate of 0.80% APY which is given to their regular share savings account.

The minimum balance needed for this high interest savings account is just $25.

The MySavings account is offered to members who are 21 years old or younger. This is an inverted savings account where the lowest of balances get the highest interest rates. The more you put into it the lesser it earns. It is a good starter for a savings account.

Deposits can be sent through electronic transfer, wire, setup as a direct deposit, sent by mail, or personally forwarded to a branch.
