Workmen’s Circle Credit Union CD Rates

Here’s a good deal on CDs for those that live in Georgia. Workmen’s Circle Credit Union is offering a 2.01% APY 6 month CD and a 2.5% 1-2 year certificate of deposit with a minimum deposit of $5,000. The early withdrawal penalty is pretty light, only 30 days’ interest. These rates are also available as IRA CD rates.

Workmen’s also has a good money market account for balances over $20,000. You get 2.25% APY for balances $20,000 to $50,000, 2.5% APY for balances of $50,000 to $100,000, and 2.60% APY for balances of $100,000 to $500,000.

Membership to Workmen’s is open to anyone who lives or works in Chatham County, Georgia.

3.50% APY for 60-month term, Highest CD Rates with CEF Credit Union

The CEF Credit Union offers their top cd rates for their members in Illinois and California. The highest cd rates are being offered for their two long-term money in the bank deals with the 5-year CD earning 3.50% APY and 4-year CD yielding 3.25% APY. These CDs can be opened with an initial funding of $1,000.

An additional 0.10% certificate of deposit rates can be enjoyed if you open a jumbo certificate for at least $100,000.

These interest rates are still posted on the credit union’s website as of December 30. These best cd rates may be changed any time. The current cd rates are also posted on the website of Valley Credit Union which was merged with CEFCU via the mediation of the NCUA last 2008. The Valley CU is now operating as a division of CEF Credit Union.

Utilities Employees Credit Union, based out of Pennsylvania, is an SEG (select employee group) based credit union which is currently providing some phenomenal CD rates, money market rates and checking rates to it’s members.

CD interest rates with Qualtrust Credit Union remains competitive, 60-month CD at 3.56% APY

The top cd rates being offered by Qualtrust Credit Union remain to be very attractive despite the recent drops in the market. Their highest interest rate is for their 5-year money in the bank deal through share certificate earning 3.56% APY. Another competitive CD has current interest rates of 3.30% APY.

Members can open a certificate of deposit account with a minimum funding of $1,000. The credit union also offers attractive short-term certificates of deposit:

12 months 1.66% APY
18 months 1.76% APY
2 years 2.27% APY
30 months 2.52% APY
3 years 2.78% APY
4 years 3.30% APY

2.00% 9-Month CD at Digital Credit Union – Easy Membership

Digital Credit Union is offering a special 9-month certificate with a 2.00% APY. Minimum deposit is $500. It’s also available in an IRA. The CD is listed in the DCU’s special offers page as of 10/08/09.

It has been a while since DCU last offered a competitive CD special. My last post on a CD special was in January. At that time, the specials didn’t last long. In previous years, their CD specials were more common, and they lasted for several months.

Anyone can join DCU via membership in an association. Refer to this credit union page for the list of associations. The least expensive membership is $10 for joining Reach Out for Schools. 3.00% 9-Month CD at First Priority Credit Union in MA – Local Only

First Priority Credit Union is offering a special 9-month certificate with a 3.00% APY. This requires that you open a new checking account. Without the checking, the rate is still very competitive at 2.50% APY. Minimum deposit is $1,000. The credit union is also offering other competitive rates on its standard certificates including a 2.75% APY for 24 months, 3.00% APY for 36 months and 3.50% APY for 60 months. These are also available as IRA certificates. These rates are listed in the credit union’s rates page as of 9/01/09.

First Priority has a history of offering top rates on its regular and special certificates.
